    Dos Factotum Re-Launches

New Category today on Read It Or Don’t: NEW CONTENT!

As my web presence is solidified and as my film work continues, I try to take the spare time to upload things and complete my digital footprint.

Today, Dos Factotum, the webcomic by Thrash and I has debuted at DosFactotum.com

There are over 100 strips already created and NEW comics will be created for the new run.

Every Wednesday and Saturday a new strip will be posted. Sign up to receive e-mail updates when a new comic has been posted by clicking on “Subscribe (E-mail/RSS)” directly above the comic.

Thrash and I will also be making blog posts on non-comic days to make sure content is constantly updated. Thrash has a really awesome post about The Bucket List up right now, proving that even if you don’t read the comic (as the very title of my site give you the option), the blogs will be entertaining.

You can also access the Dos Factotum site via the “Graphic” tab above, then clicking on the Dos Factotum link.

Other content currently active on this site:

Graphic -> Photos : Selected Facebook photos, also appearing on the “Memory Fragments” sidebar option.

Music -> Interesting Tracks: Music that has grabbed my attention. Most of it will be posted on the main page (see DC below), but songs will be put here regardless of copyright, so some of them will only appear on the actual page.

Music -> Citizen Nowhere: Eventually, CN and Serious Bob will be united in one place (much like the Dos Factotum re-launch). It will be blog style like the great failed People’s Army. Until then, there is always this “Greatest Hits” playlist.

Film: This is where video updates of the Brillhart/Gonzales variety go up. The Teaser for Pink Slip is there now, and it’s a bit more visible than brillhartgonzales.com

Other stuff is coming, but why not sign up for Dos Factotum mailers right now?

    Thrash Retrospective

    I’ve always called Ryan “Thrash.”

I think I’m going to change his username on the NEW DOS FACTOTUM SITE to “Thrash” and hope that he doesn’t figure out how to change it back.

Thrash has learned a lot more about the internet since the days he drew the first Dos Factotum strips.

He showed me the shoddily drawn cigarette and condom for the first time on September 27th, 2004.

He handed me the first three strips scrawled on a piece of paper.

They looked something like this (this isn’t the original, this is the Civil War Special, and he had improved with his sketching since the first ones):

I know the exact date because I made the first two that night and made a blog post about it the next day. That post contained the first comic, exactly as it will appear on Wednesday 23rd ON THE NEW DOS FACTOTUM SITE. The typeface is different, the punch-line is hazy, but we got better over three years.

Although I’ve bee blogging since 2003, and I met Ryan that semester at NYU, the comic blog post is only the 7th post Thrash appears in.

I’m going to share my favorite Thrash excerpts with you now.

11-14-04 (the night we heard Ol Dirty Bastard Died):

Thrash had already been drunk enough to sleep, then woke up to keep drinking. Being we were all smashed already, we decided that this party should be themed as “Sans Pants.” And although this rule was not upheld, we rocked the boxers the majority of the night.

It was about 10pm when we were all drunk, and I put on some music (not ODB, as we all thought we lived in a peaceful ODB filled world at this point). Thrash and Nate immediately took to dancing. This is before actually going to where the party was.

So Thrash popped out one of his balls. And it was pretty funny. Soon, Nate and I popped out a ball. Then I said I had to show them “the gonad” and I did. And Nate said he had a penis trick, so he did it.

    02-13-05

This morning I woke up my roommates (minus Frank who hasn’t stayed here in weeks, allowing me to masturbate in the mornings) sitting in the common room looking like shit. I didn’t feel like shit because I had drank a lot of water at 6:30 in the AM, so my hangover was “cut off at the pass.” I went in the shower and was listening to The Books and System of A Down. Thrash knocked on the door, so I opened it, leaning so my skinny naked body wasn’t in view.

“Dude, we’re hung-over out here, can you turn that shit down?”

So I turned it down, then showered, and then put on my Kimono and jeans instead of making another morning shirt dirty. Then we all bitched about how none of us had women, and [name deleted] is still a virgin. Then we talked about how we need to make more bacon so we can fill up the grease can. Then we talked about fucking the grease can because women are whores.

    02-20-05:

He and Thrash decided that it was time that they fight (wrestle), so they moved into the common room with spectators including Frank, Morgan, Paul (McShane’s friend - also responsible for bending the shower curtain rod in our bathroom), and myself. The fight we saw was sloppy, but Thrash’s superior size determined his victory. There were some humiliating moments, such as Thrash humping McShane asking him if he “liked that,” Thrash smoking for the entire 2nd and 3rd rounds, and Thrash ashing on McShane while sitting on him.

So watching this, I think that it’s time I round out Thrash’s 1-1 fight record for the night.

I see now in the morning that the only person who thought that a 128lb, 5′7″ Hispanic art student could win was himself. Thrash is much taller, was much drunker, and ended up being able to rain down blows upon m
