My mom is a big fan of Feist’s newest album The Reminder ever since I played her 1,2,3,4 this fall. Unlike most people, she was unaware that an uber-cool video and the iPod commercial existed, so I got to play music Prometheus and give her Feist fire.
At the Hammerstein, there was a lot of time for standing around, listening to teenaged girls and boys spout off about their “love” for Feist. I was lucky enough to just be there to take in the show, and I enjoyed it, especially since the only other show I’ve seen at the Hammerstein was Nine Inch Nales/Dresden Dolls.
While standing around, looking into a crowd that - for once in my life - I could take on in a multi-person brawl (don’t ask me why I think these things), I realized I had brought my new uber-cool voice recorder into the venue.
Since I have no use for an entire Feist set, nor the need to impress any Feist-y fan girls, I only recorded one song: 1,2,3,4 for my mother.
That’s what’s above.
I’m not tricking myself into thinking that you guys actually want this, but in the spirit of “it’s just as easy to offer the download,” you can download the track here.
I’m totally bringing that voice recorder to more concerts.
So I found my brother’s blog, and he has been added to the blog links on the left. (Julian, where’s Justin?).
I was especially entertained by one dream entry:
When I fell back asleep, I dreamt this: My mom, Liz, and my brother, Dave, and I were demons. We all had pieces of glass shoved into our eyes and our mouths were also filled with bits of glass. However, we couldn’t feel anything because we were demons.
Because we were demons…of course.
He also has some cool pics of back in Colorado including some REALLY sleazy ones of yours truely, some pics of Kate, and a dead polar bear. They can be found here
