My music video production project has been delayed and delayed, so I’ve been focusing on my digital footprint.
Let’s outline why I think this is a good idea:
It’s the fucking wild wild west out here in internet land. Between cross-linking, social networking and community share sites ANYONE has a chance to make it big on the net. But, you don’t even have to make it “big.” you just have to make it “small.”
Working for the internet over the past six months has taught me a lot about how the net works in certain social circles. Being me, I always say yes to crazy ideas (i.e. “Let’s write a book about burritos,” or “let’s do another Serious Bob album.” I’ve started to notice that we have a great deal of content just sitting around not getting used whatsoever.
I’m going to change that.
In the past, I’ve made impassioned pleas to some of you about certain web-projects and how they can be interesting and/or gain us some exposure. I’m the #1 proponent of anything any of you guys do.
And I’m going to distribute it (with your permission), slowly over the period of the next year-and-a-half.
Dos Factotum will be handling anything designated as “comedy.” If you are a comedy writer (Nate?) or have made something funny like a video or a song: up on Dos Factotum (look for Pen Pen to pop up in the coming weeks).
I’m working with Analytics, link sharing and advertising for the Dos Factotum site, and as soon as that’s done, the site is done. We have enough comics to go on for the full year-and-a-half time frame, and enough new stuff after the old comics run to keep it going for awhile.
I’m going to be using my extra internet time to feed as much attention into that site as possible.

In the spirit of keeping things moving forward, I’ve also began porting the ridiculously complex Serious Bob site to make it easier to use, easier to surf and easier to participate/find what you want.
Although Serious Bob graphics are currently up on that site, it will most likely become a place to put all the music I happen across/work on/have stored somewhere in digital form.
I was and am all about the idea of having a collective where people can upload their music, but the coding it takes to do that is too much work. Things just have to start going up and populating with content.
After the Serious Bob site goes up, another site will be birthed based on content I have. I’m not 100% locked into any idea yet, though I have a pretty good one on the back-burner.
I’ve installed Analytics on this site, so I know someone is reading this. I’m guessing it’s someone I know really well. So, I have this message for you: check back here at ReadItOrDont!
This blog will keep you updated on my thoughts outside of everything I’ve discussed above as well as being the testing ground for stuff. I will also be announcing things when they become active.
And most of the stuff going active is stuff made by people you know (maybe even you!).
The choice you have is inherent in the domain name. I suggest you read it.
