I knew I said I’d get this out by October, and I’m obviously several days late. But, my sixth album of wacky demos went through some changes in the few weeks I spent “mastering” them. Songs were added cut, designs were changed, the end of October loomed.

Oh, and I produced some stuff in there.

The good thing is that, for awhile, Brillhart/Gonzales is going to eat some time so I won’t feel compelled to work on that 45 minute binary-based instrumental album.

Here’s the skinny: There are two versions of this album available. The MP3 version, featuring the cartoon me looking over a mob of people as a giant blue hand crushes smokestacks marked with The Gentleman and the moody, green digital smoke-themed AIFF version.

In the spirit of new content, this is a big day. The reality is that in these tough economic time, starting a business has put a strain on my finances. I need to monetize my hobbies, or cut out the ones that aren’t worth additional time or monetary investment.

But until then, it’s been nice sharing with most of you.

It’s October, and as the teaser below would have you believe, there is a Citizen Nowhere album coming out this month. This will be the first time CN has come across two full releases in a year since Books I and II were released in late 2003 and early 2004.

Why this happened is a bit of a mind fuck, as I’ve probably written three albums since Valhalla came out on July 6th. That’s four months ago this coming Monday. Which means I’m officially an obsessive and that’s not necessarily good.

I have a film shoot to manage coming up next Friday and everyday involves getting one thing in line and plugging away at the things to get in line the following days. I know that’s vague, but vaguery is better than the whole tamale, which would be a post longer than this one needs to be.

Out If Insight, Out Of Mind will be released this month. The reason being that I need to close a music project. My “Song List” where I put demo’d versions of songs is currently 39 songs that equal 1.9 hours, says my iTunes. And while you’ve heard some of the demos here on the blog, none of these songs have been released in any bundle package, which is still how I view my personal works. ZIP file out? Good, those songs are done, and I need to put some of these to rest.

So, I’ve spent a weekend mixing this album and will continue to do so in fear of replicating some of Valhalla’s volume and mastering inconsistencies. And here’s what I know about Out Of Insight, Out Of Mind right now: It is FAR more accessible than Valhalla. Less electro-freak-outs (with the exception of “The Snake”), more up-front vocals that don’t get buried in sound, more pop-centric songs (though a lot of the tracks were pulled out of the song list because they weren’t poppy ENOUGH for certain other TBD projects), more variation in instrumentation and more balls-out honesty without working through metaphor. I don’t have a girl to bitch about for a full album this time, and that’s sort of the theme running through the whole album, epitomized in “Wont Stop Dont Stop Cant Stop” and “Feeling Useless,” the latter being one of my favorite compositions to date (lyrics? Still unsure if it needs it).

Anyway, I’m sure I’ll expound on all of this before the eventual release.

More importantly, Valhalla got a teaser promo “single” in The Winning Team after that song won the race to being mixed as I heard it. This time, I wanted to go with a track that would give you a good idea of CN6 as a whole. “”Everything Is Going To Be Fine”" is in quotes, because that’s what your inner voice tells you, even when it’s lying.

Is it weird that the first track released as being part of CN6 is also the longest song on the album? Does anyone preview anything with a 7-minute single?

Who cares. If I discovered anything while making Out Of Insight, Out Of Mind it’s that I can’t stop doing this no matter how inconvenient it is for me or how boring it is for you.

I’m kind of sorry, but here it is anyway.
