Kid: “Dad, why are we poor?”
Dad: “Because back in 2008, assets were like gravy. But nobody wanted to touch the gravy.”

Dad: “‘fraid not. Gravy costs gravy, er, money, and we don’t have any money.”
Kid: “I’m so hungry. Where’s Mom?”
Dad: “I don’t know. Gone, maybe.”
Thanks.
