Episode 406: Cathy

Seems like Cathy creator Cathy Guisewite got hitched because the Cathy in Cathy, who we assume is based on Cathy (Guisewite), is now married. To a man. His name is Irving. (We must have missed the strips about Cathy sweating (literally) what to wear to bed on the honeymoon. Thank gosh they’re selling the 192-page-long Cathy wedding fiasco.) But if you’re worried that the computer golf game-loving Irving will steal the spotlight, have no fear. According to the description on this site, the strip is “still all about Cathy – she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh.” David identifies more than most. Anytime he’s not blogging about Wilmer Valderrama’s pubic hair or Moby’s adopted children, he can found in Bloomie’s dressing rooms trying on one-piece bathing suits that are way too small for him. He’ll say, “Why won’t this gosh darn thing fit?” as foot-long streams of sweat shoot out of his brow.
