Season Three. This is when the strip starts to get a little brown. As any Ween fan will know, “brown” means, well, it means a few things, including weird, bad, nasty, unsettling, loud, messy sounding and unpleasant. There are a few of the Dos Factotum global syndication strips that, when looking back, make little to no sense. (That is, even more so than the average ‘totum strip.) Why would the foreign papers print a strip that never existed in the American version? And why would they want to print strips that are essentially racist? These questions are best left to our nation’s long-haired graduate students.

The From the Vault series of strips comes later in the season. It isn’t as brown. Burnt sienna, maybe.
