Episode 110: Captain Hats
The campfire in this strip is about three times as tall as it needs to be. If the C & C were average-sized people, the fire would be eight feet tall. When asked why he made the fire so tall, Dave tends to say, “Each artist has to have his thing, you dig? Leonardo has his smoky landscapes and piercing eyes, Giacometti has those thin iron people, Oldenburg has enormous everyday objects, and so on. Gonzales has tall campfires.”
